Advantages of Hydromulch

SPEED

An area that has been hydromulched and properly watered will start to grow in about 7 days if the ground temperature is above 62 degrees. Under normal conditions, the new lawn will be established in 3-4 weeks. If you are planting a relatively large area, hydromulching can be completed in a very short period of time.

COST

Hydromulching will typically cost much less than planting with sod. Locally, sod from a wholesaler costs .29 sq/ft. Purchasing sod is expensive, even if you know how to lay it yourself. If you must hire a sod installer, the labor charges make sod almost cost prohibitive for a large area. Hydromulching will cost 70%-80% less than sod and give you an equally beautiful lawn.

HEALTH

Hydromulched grass starts out in the soil you place it in, it is not subjected to transplant shock that can occur when your soil is different from the original soil the sod was grown in. Sod is also subject to drying out during transport and long installation times. Hydromulched lawns grow in healthy and full to crowd out weeds and resist disease.

COVERAGE

Have you ever seen a lawn that had sod installed with seams showing or pushed up in a pile after your child slides in “safe at second base”? Or have you watched a hand-seeded lawn grow in patchy and sparse? What about slopes? Hydromulching creates an evenly covered area that forms a crust to hold seed in place and retain water and fertilizer. Hydromulching can be very effective for hillsides and sloping lawns to help with erosion control and quick planting
